Tsunami pop

I'm tempted to catch a train up to Glasgow in February for the tsunami benefit concert. It looks a lot better than the Cardiff one; rather than the populistic blend of shiny top-40 R&B/pop the Welsh gig was filled with, it's a who's-who of Scottish indie, with Belle & Sebastian, Mogwai, Franz Ferdinand and Teenage Fanclub just four of the names playing.

Can anyone recommend good, reasonably inexpensive accommodation in Glasgow (near the SECC, in the centre, or in the Byres Rd. precinct)?

Can't help you with accommodation, but I'd certainly be interested in seeing the gig, if you're looking for company... I want to get up to Scotland anyway while I'm here.

Could be good.

I'm thinking of going up on the Friday and staying until Sunday morning/afternoon. What are your plans?

Korrekt. I'm living in London for 3 months or so. Staying with some friends in West Hampstead for a little while until I sort out some accomm of my own. So a few days up in Scotland isn't out of the question... work-wise I'll be freelancing as far as I can see, and that should be monday-friday.

Unfortunately, it looks like the concert sold out before I could get enough slack on my credit card to buy a ticket. Thus I most probably won't be heading to Glasgow in February.

Anyway, perhaps we should meet up for a pint sometime. I'm currently living in Chalk Farm, which is in roughly the same part of London.
