I recently picked up the Bloc Party album. As far as new-new-wave garage-revivalist NME Carling Rock bands go, they sound quite passable; above all the Futureheads/Killers/Yourcodenameis:Milos/other contenders for the crown of the "next Franz Ferdinand". In places, they sound like Interpol crossed with The Cure's last album.

The Franz Ferdinand album struck me as being like Oasis' What's The Story Morning Glory in that you could go through it track by track and name the precise song or two they lifted each track from. How's the Bloc Party album shape up on that score?

I didn't notice that about Franz Ferdinand. Which songs did they rip off?

I've only listened to Bloc Party once so far; ask me again in a week or two when I've had a chance to digest it.

"At Home He's A Tourist" was pretty obvious. I've played it through once, so would need time to compile the full list. All riffs and styles sounded rather familiar, though, so it wouldn't be too hard.
