Doing the rounds of the record shops this afternoon, I picked up the self-titled Franz Ferdinand album (so far it sounds a bit '70s glam-rock), and a copy of British Sea Power's The Decline and Fall of British Sea Power (on cyflea's recommendation).
well, i didn't say it was really good. it was merely a good buy at $16 (i'd been waiting a while to find it second hand), but i've only had about 1.5 listens (i'd go on about the Sundowners CD I picked up on Saturday, but you'd all laugh at me).
meanwhile, i'd be happy if the Interpol album went away for a few years. it seems to be the in-cafe thing to play if you're not playing Manu Chao. Case(s) in point - weekend before last when i dropped by mr kineticfactory in the tin pot, then last weekend when i went to catch royalchord at the rob roy.
I've only listened to it once, and it had some good songs and some which didn't really grab me. Though that was my reaction to the Interpol album when I first heard it, and I ended up getting really into them. I'll give it some time to grow on me.
